PR: Start small. Think big.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 20th May 2011

Start small. Think big.

think‘ is a revolutionary business facility based at Darwin House, Todmorden. It’s the first work hub of its kind in Calderdale, offering professional office space, support and facilities for small businesses, startups, freelancers and creatives in Todmorden without the overheads of maintaining their own office facility.

think‘ founder Shaun Murray explains more: “The internet has made huge changes to how we live, work and do business. Hub working is part of a new generation of work space that is emerging to meet these changing demands allowing people to work where they want to live.” Mr Murray is a serial entrepreneur having co-founded Singletrack Mountain Bike Magazine in Todmorden and his website design and hosting business, aegis design, from home eight years ago. He will now be based within ‘think’.

A work hub is an open workspace with a range of permanent and temporary “hot desks” that users can occupy to work independently on their laptop via the high speed internet connection. ‘think‘ also offers users access to small meeting rooms on demand so that they can meet clients in a professional manner. Its location within Todmorden town centre expands the daytime economy in Todmorden and users benefit from superfast internet connections impossible to achieve in the surrounding rural landscape.

think‘ will be holding regular open days and networking sessions to further develop co-working opportunities and is working with Calderdale Council to encourage business startups and economic growth in Todmorden.

In other parts of the UK, work hubs are popular with entrepreneurs and creative freelancers, many of whom work from home and relish the opportunity to attend a work hub on an occasional basis to access peer support or just to escape from the distractions of home life. Feeling part of a larger business community through a work hub can also help to combat rural isolation and even develop business opportunities for joint ventures with other co-workers.
